Construction group Balfour Beatty, which has been appointed by Aberdeen City Council to transform Union Terrace Gardens (UTG), is inviting local businesses to attend a Meet the Buyer event to find out about sub-contracting opportunities.
The UTG design includes three pavilions (on Union Street, Union Terrace and Rosemount Viaduct), a walkway from Union Street, landscaping and lighting, and the refurbishment of the Union Terrace arches.
Companies bidding for sub-contracts through the Balfour Beatty supply chain need to hold Constructionline Gold membership.
Balfour Beatty’s Regional Head of Procurement for Scotland, Jim Brannan, commented: “Balfour Beatty is honoured to be delivering this collaborative flagship project for Aberdeen City Council and we look forward to working with local businesses in the area.
“The transformation of Union Terrace Gardens will bring lasting social and environmental benefits to the Aberdeen community and by supporting employment in construction the project has already had a positive economic impact on the City Region.”
The event will take place in the Town and County Hall in the Town House, Broad Street, Aberdeen at 11.30am on Tuesday, 24 September. To register, click here.
