Governance

The City Centre Masterplan was unanimously adopted in June 2015 by Aberdeen City Council, and major Masterplan decisions continue to be taken by councillors as part of the normal democratic process.

A number of checks and balances are in place to ensure the CCMP is properly managed and that project timetables and budgets are adhered to.

A Programme Board (made up of senior council officers and representatives of partner organisations) oversees delivery and considers project inter-dependency. A City Centre Reference Group (including external stakeholders and cross-party political representation) scrutinizes the Masterplan’s direction of travel against its objectives.
