A number of projects support the Masterplan vision, including a proposal to improve the appearance and amenity of the public space around the Art Gallery, Cowdray Hall and Robert Gordon’s College.

The Business Case for the Schoolhill Project (estimated cost £2.55 million) has been approved, along with the budget (£550,000) for the Stage 1 works (enlarging the pavement but maintaining a two-way traffic flow and the slip road outside the College).

Aberdeen City Council is bringing forward a design that will improve accessibility and use high quality granites to complement the historic built environment of the Belmont Street and the Backwynd areas.

Partnership funding will be sought for design and implementation as the project moves forward.
